This week the children did a lot of Christmas projects. They were doing four projects in one week. I personally think that's a little much because it puts a lot of stress on them and on us to try to get everything done before Christmas vacation. Maybe someday we can cut it down to two projects. Today was the last day of school. The children brought goodies for their classmates and teachers. In the morning I had them do one last Do A Dot Art stamping.
I will write again next year. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

First Day of the New School Year
Monday 8-4-2014
Today was the first day of the new school year. It was an
unusually day the children came into the classrooms and played quietly and so
nicely. Normally the children are loud when they play in the classroom.
There are a few new children in the 3 year old class and
a few in the 4 year old class. There is a new boy in the 4 year old class who
said to me teacher I like your hair. I
said thank you. Another boy said Hi Ms
Erin your good.
The children rode bikes today they had a good time. This
afternoon for snack they had apples and ice pops. No one got hurt today so we
didn't have to write an ouchie report. Today was a good first day.
I was so excited
about today that I forgot my lunch at home and I had to go back and get it.
Lucky I wasn't too far from my house.
During nap time I made crayon boxes out of milk cartons
that the parents brought this morning for the children.

Last Day of School
7-25-2014
It has been a long
school year today was the last day of school. We had water play today the children seemed to have a good
time. The parents brought a potluck
lunch with lots of food.
This morning I played a game with two children called
scrub. One child would pretend to wash the alphabet letter block with soap and
the other child would pretend to dry and I was suppose to pretend to rise it
with water it was fun. Then we would change roles.
This afternoon I played catch with a little boy and roll
the ball with a little girl. The little
boy brought me a rubber ball that had hello kitty pictures on it. The
little girl brought me a light green basketball and we sat on the ground and
rolled it to each other.
It was also the
last day of 5 children who is leaving to
go to kindergarten. It was hard to say good bye to them.
Two children gave me a present. One child gave me a plant
in a mason jar and the other child gave me a bag that you put together. I
thought that was very sweet of them.

One Year
7-24-2014
I have been at my job for a year. In that time frame I
have learned much about being a teacher.
I am also taking online classes going for my Child
Development Associate degree. Through these classes I have learned much about child development. I think you
learn more when you are getting hands on experience.
I have seen children come and go through the preschool.
It's amazing how much you have an effect on a child.
Today a child gave
me a gift for no reason at all. The
child comes in and said here Ms Erin for you. It was a beaded bracelet.
Today we also went on our last field trip for the summer.
We went to Chuck E Cheese. The children had a good time.
My coworkers and I all
wrote in a children's book called Oh The Places You'll Go to give to a child
who is going to kindergarten. That was very hard for me because the child and I
have a bonded by playing games and having conversations
